Description
Half-length portrait of Frederick William IV, King of Prussia, standing facing forwards and looking off to the left as viewed. He wears short double-breasted military coat with epaulettes and has a sword hilt at his left hip. He is decorated in insignia on his left breast and has five medals on ribbon across his chest.
Inscribed ‘T. SMYTH. HIS MAJESTY THE KING OF PRUSSIA, -DRAWN BY M BAUGNIET.’
Frederick William IV (1795-1861) King of Prussia was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1842.
