Head and shoulders portrait of John Gregory turned to the right as viewed and looking out to viewer. In an oval frame.
Inscribed ‘Engraved by Ridley. JOHN GREGORY, M.D. Aetatis, 40 of Edinburgh. Published by J Asperne, at the Bible, Crown & Constitution, Cornhill, 1 Sept 1804.’ And pencilled ‘1756’.
John Gregory (1724-1773) British physician, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1756.
