    Description
    Half-length portrait of George Hardinge, in three-quarter profile to the left as viewed. He is seated with his right arm resting on the back of the chair and he holds a book in his right hand. He wears a buckled wig with queue and is dressed in a jacket, waistcoat, shirt and necktie.

    Inscribed ‘N. Dance Pinx J. Jackson, RA, Del. H. Meyer, Sculp. GEORGE HARDINGE, ESQ. M.A. F.R.S. AND F.S.A. Senior Justice of the Counties of Brecon, Glamorgan & Radnor.’

    George Hardinge (1743-1816) British barrister, elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1788.
