    Description
    Head and shoulders portrait of Robert Harley, 1st Earl of Oxford and Mortimer, in three-quarter profile to the left as viewed. He wears full-length periwig and is dressed in robes of the Order of the Garter. He has the white staff of the Lord High Treasurer to his left as viewed and has the Garter Collar and Great George around his neck. In an oval frame.

    Inscribed ‘ROBERT HARLEY EARL of OXFORD. Pubd. 12 July 1800 by S Harding 127 Pall Mall.’

    Robert Harley, 1st Earl of Oxford and Mortimer (1661-1724) British statesman, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1712.
