Head and shoulders portrait of Benjamin Hobhouse seated with his right arm resting on the back of the wooden chair. He wears regency-style clothing and has short hair with side-whiskers.
Inscribed ‘Sir BENJAMIN HOBHOUSE, Bart. F.R.S. &c &c.’ pencilled ‘1798’ lower left hand corner.
