Head and shoulders portrait of William Hunter inclined to the left and eyes to the right. He wears buckled wig with queue and is dressed in buttoned coat, waistcoat and neck tie.
Inscribed ‘WILLIAM HUNTER, M.D. F.R.S.’ and pencilled 1767’ on paper support.
William Hunter (1718-1783) British physician, elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1767.
