Head and shoulders portrait of Charles Hutton after a medallion, in left profile. In a round frame.
Inscribed in ink on paper support ‘Charles Hutton FRS’ with date of election pencilled lower left and facsimile signature on separate paper, cut from the original print.
Charles Hutton (1737-1823) British mathematician elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1774 and served on the Council as Foreign Secretary from 1779-1784.
