Half-length portrait of John Huxham inclined to the right as viewed. He wears mid-length periwig and is dressed in dark coat, shirt with lace cuffs and necktie. He holds a walking stick in his right hand and appears to be blind in his left eye.
Inscribed ‘JOHN HUXHAM, M.D. F.R.S.’ and pencilled ‘1739’ on paper support.
