Description
Three-quarter length seated portrait of James William Gilbart in a long jacket and waistcoat sitting at an ornated writing desk. There is a slip of paper in his left hand, which is resting on the desk, his right hand holds a quill pen. From 'the drawing room portrait gallery of eminent personages' a collection by The Illustrated News of the World and The London Joint Stock Newspaper Co Ltd.
