Head and shoulders portrait of Charles Dietrich Eberhard Konig in three-quarter turn to the right and looking out to viewer. He wears regency-style clothes of high-collared shirt and dark neck cloth.

Charles Dietrich Eberhard Konig (1774-1851) German naturalist, elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1810, he served on the Council as Foreign Secretary from 1830 until 1837.
