    Half-length portrait of George Legge, 3rd Earl of Dartmouth, seated in a wooden chair with carved lion detail to the arm. He is dressed in fine clothes of silk waistcoat, velvet jacket and is wearing garter sash.

    Inscribed ‘George Earl of Dartmouth, K.G. F.R. & A. S. Late a Vice President of the Society.’

    George Legge, 3rd Earl of Dartmouth (1755-1810) British politician, elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1781.
