    Description
    Head and shoulders portrait of Charles Lennox, 3rd Duke of Richmond and Lennox, in right profile. He wears buckled wig with queue and is dressed in jacket, waistcoat, ruffled shirt and necktie. In an oval frame on a pedestal with coat of arms and ribbon inscribed ‘EN LA ROSE JE FLEURIE.’

    Inscribed ‘HIS GRACE CHARELS DUKE OF RICHMOND. Published as the Act directs May 1st 1782 by J.Walker, Paternoster Row.

    Charles Lennox, 3rd Duke of Richmond and Lennox (1735-1806) British army officer and politician, elected a Fellow of the Royal Society 1755.
