Head and shoulders portrait of Georges Louis Leclerc, Count of Buffon, inclined to the right and looking out to viewer. He wears a buckled wig and is dressed in fine clothes of embroidered waistcoat and braided jacket. In an oval frame with an illustration of a bird of prey below.
