    Half-length portrait of Benjamin Moseley seated in an interior and looking off to the left as viewed, he holds a book open upon a table to his right. He wears double-breasted dress coat, high-collared shirt, necktie and breeches. Set against a classical backdrop with draped fabric, pillar and volcanic landscape beyond.

    Inscribed ‘Paye Pinx. Marie A Bourlier Sculp. BENJAMIN MOSELEY, M.D. Physician to Chelsea Hospital.’

    Benjamin Moseley (1742-1819) British physician, he was not a Fellow of the Royal Society.
