Description
Portrait of Ivan Pavlov [third from the right] and a group of five men in an outdoor setting, all looking into the camera. Pavlov wears a white shirt underneath a light waitcoast and dark jacket, and a wide rimmed hat. He holds a baseball bat in his left hand.
Verso inscription: ‘9 Pavlov + group at Russian baseball. 1925.’
One of a group of nine photographs sent to Thomas Renton Elliott FRS (1877-1961), apparently by Pavlov and presented by Elliott to Hugh Sinclair in 1945-1946.
Ivan Petrovich Pavlov (1849-1936) Russian physiologist was elected a Foreign Member of the Royal Society in 1907.
