Description
Drawings of snowflakes in March on separate pieces of paper stuck onto the page. This observation by James Hayes, one of the founding Fellows of the Royal Society, was read at a meeting of the Society on 21 March 1667.

Object history
At the meeting of the Royal Society on 21 March 1667, 'Mr. Hayes produced a letter containing some observations concerning the figure of snow fallen in Hampshire-marsh; and the figures were ordered to be drawn with ink' (Birch 2:160).
