    Description
Figure indicating the relative position of fixed stars in relation to the Moon and Saturn. Georg Christoph Eimmart (1638-1705), an astronomer and engraver based in Nuremberg, sent a letter to Edmond Halley dated 14 April 1687, in which he expressed his desire to communicate with the Royal Society on astronomical matters. He included in the letter his observation of the lunar occultation of Saturn observed in Nuremberg on 19 February 1687. This figure relates to this observation. The original letter (EL/E/8) includes additional figures. This figure is copied from EL/E/8/005.
