    Description
A diagram indicating the correlation of the depth of water and the compression of air, based on the table published in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol. 6, no. 73 (1671), pp. 2192-95. From an extract of a letter from Richard Towneley to John Collins dated 29 January 1672 (EL/T/25/003), in which he argued that the curve ccBG was a hyperbola, rather than a parabola, as described by William Brouncker in Philosophical Transactions, vol. 6, no. 75 (1671), pp. 2239-40.
