Description
Drawing of a barometer of Joshua Walker of the Philosophical Society of Oxford bent at an obtuse angle for better observing the ascent of the mercury. Communicated in a letter from William Musgrave to Francis Aston dated at Oxford, 27 June 1684. The letter was read at the meeting of the Royal Society on 2 July 1684.

At the meeting of the Royal Society on 2 July 1684, ‘A Letter of Mr. Musgrave to Mr. Aston, dated at Oxford, June 27, 1684, chiefly concerning his success in tying up the jugular veins of a dog’ (Birch 4:309).
