Drawings of snowflakes in March. This observation by James Hayes, one of the founding Fellows of the Royal Society, was read at a meeting of the Society on 21 March 1667.

Object history
At the meeting of the Royal Society on 21 March 1667 'Mr. Hayes produced a letter containing some observations concerning the figure of snow fallen in Hampshire-marsh; and the figures were ordered to be drawn with ink' (Birch 2:160).
