Description
Drawing of the size and shape of stones voided through the penis, and reported by William Cole of Worcester to William Musgrave at Oxford. Musgrave relayed Cole's account to Francis Aston, in which he explained that the straight line in the margin (measured with a thread) was the size of the circumference of the thickest part, and that the other two figures indicated the outlines traced of the two voided stones when placed on the paper. Musgrave's letter was read at the meeting of the Royal Society on 18 December 1685.

Dr Cole of Worcester has written to us concerning the Exclusion of 2 Stones (of the Bigness Subjoyned) by the Penis, without any (considerable) pain; he had the Account from the person that voyded them; he saw the Stones and took their bigness and circumference (of which the straight line is the measure they being in the thickest part much of a bigness) by tracing lines about them as they lay upon a Paper for the Shape; and measuring them with a thread for the Circumference the Person himself told Dr, that he was for many years subject to great pains, first in the Kidneys, afterwards in the Bladder when that in the Kidneys ceased: but since the Exclusion (which was about a year since) was free from pain to the Time the Dr Saw him, which was about half a year since.
