Description
A copy of a drawing of the ruins of Persepolis (or Chilminar in Persian) by Cornelis de Bruijn (1652-1726/7), a Dutch painter and traveller, sent from Nicolaes Witsen to Martin Lister in January 1694. It was printed in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol. 18, no. 210 (May 1694).

Since you have been pleas'd to Communicate to me an Inscription found at Persepolis, I thought it would be Acceptable to send you the draughts of part of the Ruines of the stone works of that proud palace, given me by the person himself that drew them upon the place.
