Description
Small marginal drawing which gives the size of the animal that was vomited out by an eight-month-old girl who had been ill for a week. The episode was related by Francis Jessop (1631-1698) to Martin Lister, who relayed it to Henry Oldenburg in a letter dated 28 July 1675, York, which was endorsed by Oldenburg on 3 September. It was printed in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol. 10, no. 117 (1675), pp. 391-95.
