Description
A small circle indicating the place where a seal should be affixed on the subscription form for Fellows, designed by John Hoskins, later President of the Royal Society.
Object history
At the council meeting of the Royal Society on 14 November 1670, ‘Mr. Hoskyns produced the legal form of subscriptions, which had been recommended by him at the last meeting of the council’ (Birch 2:452). Birch prints the full text.
