    Description
    This is a letter by Albrecht Dürer to Willibald Pirckheimer, in which Dürer enquires about the whereabouts of a sapphire ring he had sent to Hans Imhoff in Nürnberg.

    The letter contains a sketch of the ring.
    Object history
    The letter was discovered in the late nineteenth century by William Mitchell in 'The Codex Arundel' of the Arundel Collection, which is now kept in London at the British Library (Arundel MS 263), see https://www.bl.uk/collection-guides/arundel-manuscripts.
    The Dürer letter is kept at the Royal Society.
