Description

This page from the Royal Society's Charter Book contains the signatures of the royal patron Charles II (signing in 1665), and members of the royal family, James, Duke of York (1665), George, Prince of Denmark (1704) and Rupert, Prince of Germany (1665). James and Rupert are each denoted 'Fellow'. The border is decorated with a floral vine pattern and at the top is the chivalric emblem of the Order of the Garter with the motto 'Honi soit qui mal y pense' ('May he be shamed who thinks badly of it').
