Description
Figure for experiments touching the direction of woollen threads from the centre of a spherical glass to its circumference by Francis Hauksbee. The paper was read to the Royal Society on 12 February 1707.
Object history
12 February 1707, 'Mr Hawksbee made an Experiment, shewing that Threads included in a Glass Globe unexhausted of Air were moved by approaching the hand towards the surface of the Glass, without touching it' (JBO/11/169).
