Description
An ink drawing of a cider-press with a pump, designed by Denis Papin. The design was submitted to the meeting of the Royal Society on 23 March 1687.
Object history
At the meeting of the Royal Society on 23 March 1687, ‘Dr. Papin produced the description of an engine for applying the weight or pressure of the air for pressing cyder or the like’ (Birch 4:529).
