Description
Diagram of a device to experiment with a bullet (placed in a groove on a wooden beam, designated by the letter F). The horizontal beam is placed on a 'worm gear' (i.e. a worm screw and a worm wheel) and weight, which is held down by a frame. At the end of the beam are plates (marked e) which are used to increase or decrease the motion of the beam. The experiment tries to understand with which force (or how many turns per minute) the bullet would start to move out of the cursor.
