    Description
This plaque, or design for a plaque, is added in the middle of a set of notes by Henry Oldenburg from the 1650s. The plaque mentions the horticulturist Ralph Austen (c. 1612-1676) and the art of cultivating apple trees. In Oldenburg's notes we do not find any information about apples or cider (although there are short notes on the preparation and recovering of beer). There is a list of trees, but this does not seem to be related to Austen.
