Description
Half-length portrait showing George Savile within an oval frame, he is seen wearing a dark robe, a long wig and a patterned cravat. The oval frame bears his name and a curtain is seen draping over the top of it. Below the portrait is a courtly scene showing a male figure presenting a crown and sceptre to a seated couple.

George Savile (1633-1695), British politician and writer, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1675.
