Description
Figure of parhelia in an extract of a letter from Samuel Petto, 'a grave divine', observed at Sudbury, Suffolk, 28 August 1698. This was communicated by Dr Beverley to the Royal Society on 9 November 1698, and printed in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol. 21, no. 250.

9 November 1698, 'Dr Beverley sent an account of the Parelij seen in Suffolk for which he was order'd the thanks of the Society & Dr Wallis was desired to give his thoughts of it' (JBO/10/87).
