    Description
    Etched prints of the lunar surface, annotated in ink to indicate the phase of the Moon as well as the path of Saturn relative to the Moon.

    Georg Christoph Eimmart (1638-1705), an astronomer and engraver based in Nuremberg, sent a letter to Edmond Halley dated 14 April 1687, in which he expressed his desire to communicate with the Royal Society on astronomical matters. He included in the letter his observations of the lunar occultation of Saturn observed in Nuremberg in February and March 1687.
