Figure I of the sunspots observed by Stephen Gray in November 1704. His letter to Hans Sloane on this observation was read at the meeting of the Royal Society on 14 February 1705.

Object history
14 February 1705, 'A Letter was Read from Mr Gray to Dr Sloane concerning some spots which he had observed in the Sun. Mr Hunt was order'd to send him Scheiner & Galileo on these subjects, he promising to return them in reasonable time' (JBO/11/64).
