Printed image of the surface of the Moon, with the occulation of Jupiter added by hand in ink.
This occultation of Jupiter was observed on 10 April 1686 by Johannes Hevelius in Gdansk. The textual account and charts of his observation were printed in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol. 16, no. 183 (January 1687).
