    Drawing of a house, showing the 'l'over hole' (derived from the name given to a sheltered hole on top of the roof of pigeon houses), in a letter from William Jackson to Henry Oldenburg dated at Nantwich, 18 December 1669.

    Jackson also communicated to the Royal Society an image and description of the salt-making process (printed in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol. 4, no. 53 (1669), pp. 1067-79) and cheese-making process (Cl.P/3i/22/006-007) in Cheshire.
