    Small, printed image with one figure (fig. 14) attached to letter from Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, dated at Delft, to the Royal Society.

    Fig. 14: shell of an egg no bigger than a grain of sand.

    This figure is taken from a sheet with 15 figures belonging to this letter as published by Leeuwenhoek himself in 1693. The publication in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society is missing this particular figure.
