    Position of the nova in the constellation of Cygnus, in a letter from Henry Oldenburg to Johannes Hevelius dated 8 September 1670. Hevelius's observation on 25 July 1670 of a nova near the beak of the Cygnus had been printed in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol. 5, no. 65 (November 1670). In this letter, Oldenburg conveys to Hevelius the observations by astronomers in Paris.
