Description
Doodles on the back of a letter from the Council of the Royal Society to the Earl of Sandwich concerning astronomical observations. The top figure could be related to the solstitial mark of 1510 on the meridian line designed by Paolo dal Pozzo Toscanelli, as found in the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Florence.
