    Description
    Small triangle and pentagon to indicate shapes of bladder stones in a letter from Robert Sibbald, dated at Edinburgh, to Hans Sloane. The letter was read at the meeting of the Royal Society on 3 August 1698.
    Object history
    3 August 1698, 'Dr Sloane produced a letter of Sr Robert Sibbalds giveing a relation of a boy in Scotland who after a great bruise in his head by a fall had first evacuated per penem severall (scales as from the Dissolution of the calculus in the bladder) large & figured stones which descended from his kidneys, & now lately they issue per anum & have left off the passage per penem' (JBO/10/80).
