Description
Drawing of a solar spot witnessed with an 18-foot telescope, in a letter extract from H. Stanyan, dated at Harfield. The extract was read by John Woodward to the Royal Society on 16 June 1703.
Object history
16 June 1703, 'Dr Woodward produced part of a Letter from Mr Stanyan concerning a spot in the Sun. He was thanked' (JBO/11/25).
