    Description
    Elevation of a set of scales proposed for use in the assaying of metals, notably gold, silver, copper, zinc and lead. The drawing shows a balance upon which is a weighing pan (waagschale) to the right at ‘F’, balanced by ball weights on the left-hand side as viewed. Broken lines indicate the changing position of the scales.

    Inscribed verso: ‘Wie durch eine gemeine probierwage, Golt, Silber, Kuppfer, Zin, & Bley, deren zwey mitt ein ander vermishet, fein im wasser, gewicht zu finden &c.’
