Description
Side view of a lamp fitted with a vertically curving nozzle and bellows, intended for ‘lampworking’, such as heating and manipulating glass rods over the flame to make beads and other decorative items.
The lamp has straps on the top and bottom, indicating that it was intended to be fixed in place for working: the upper strap suggests a possible foot pedal arrangement.
Drawing from the papers of Robert Boyle.
