    Description
Botanical study of common field scabious (Scabiosa major communior folio laciniato) with flower details. Signed ‘Ric: Waller pinx[it]’ (Richard Waller painted this). Unlike on his other drawings, Waller did not record the reference to John Ray’s Synopsis Methodica Stirpium Britannicarum (London, 1690), though this plant is listed at p. 59, no.1. In the middle, Waller adds further description of the plant.
