    Description
    Profile view of a hyena at the Tower of London by Henry Hunt. This was presented by Henry Hunt, the Royal Society's operator, at its meeting on 14 October 1696. It was ordered to be printed in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society with a further description of it. Nothing further is heard about the paper on the hyena.

    14 October 1696: 'Mr Hunt brought the Picture of the Animal in the Tower called Hyaena, it was orderd to be laid up and a farther account got of it, and a figure with an account of it to be given in the Transactions' (JBC/9/1).
