A comet observed on 18/28 December 1664 at Rome by John Ray. Printed in Samuel Dale, 'Observations Made at Rome, by the Late Reverend Mr. John Ray, of the Comet Which Appeared Anno 1664', Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol. 25, no. 309 (1707), pp. 2350-52.

Two dates are given because Britain had not yet implemented the Gregorian calendar reform and was thus behind the Continent by 10 days.
