Two profile portraits within a circular inscription, with putti above, and the allegorical figure of time with a scythe below.
Inscribed above 'NUMISMA GERMANUM INCLYTO SUI NOMINIS VIRO D:'. The circular inscription reads: 'IO: BAPT: FORNASARIUS IV: COLL: Bon: Nob: in Patr: Archig: I.C.ord: de sero &HIPPOL: ABBAS Primar, de mane Fratres Emeriti'. With a quotation from Cicero below. Inscribed lower right 'F.Francia sculp.', and in pencil lower left, '1696'.
Ippolito Fornassari (1628-1697), Italian clergyman and brother to G. B. Fornassari, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1696.
