Sketch showing the arrangement of wheels and cogs in the great clock at Greenwich, with their physical dimensions. When the clock-maker Thomas Tompion (1639–1713) took the clock apart to adjust its speed, John Flamsteed took the occasion to describe it to Richard Towneley. The letter is dated 15 February 1677.
