    Description
    Four separate slips of paper with five figures accompanying a letter by Philipp Jacob Hartmann to the Royal Society. The appendix describes the figures with a detailed legend. These figures were printed in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol. 20, no. 238 (1698).

    This is marked 'Figura I'.

    Historia; et explicatio figurarum, Embryon quatuor Septimanarum et placentam cotyledoniformem exhibentium.
    Matrona quadraginta circiter annorum, tertium hanc abortam faciebat anno 1685, d. 27 Septemb. ante quatuor septimanas ipsi menses adhuc fluxerant [...].

    15 December 1697, 'Dr Hartmans letter to Dr Sloan was read, it accompany'd a present of things relating to ambers 15 in number and 10 of lignum fossile pyrites's he gave the soc: They were ordered to be put into the repository. The MS he mentioned was not come yet a shore but was promised to be brought next meeting' (JBO/10/055).
