in an oval frame, from Jean-Jacques Boissard and Theodor de Bry, Bibliotheca chalcographica, hoc est Virtute et eruditione clarorum Virorum Imagines (Frankfurt a. M., 1597). Framed with coloured slips of decorative pattern.
Rudolf was the father of the astronomer and mathematician Willebrord Snellius (1580-1626).
From a set of albums known as Collectanea Newtoniana, a selection of prints, original artwork and manuscripts relating to Newton, collected by Charles Turnor (1768-1853). Turnor was an astronomer, collector and Fellow of the Royal Society. He owned Woolsthorpe Manor (Newton’s birthplace).
